Frequently Asked Questions

How physically fit do I need to be?

The hike into camp is roughly 3 miles – off trail. The day hike on day two is roughly the same distance and we will not have our packs on. This trip is considered "easy" but it is always a good idea to prepare physically for the trip.

We recommend walking, light jogging, stretching, etc, in the 2-4 weeks prior to the trip dates.

What skills or prior experience do I need?

None. We will teach you everything from start to finish. You will have the chance to practice outdoor skills along the way. If you do have experience, you will have the chance to refresh your skills and help others along.

What special gear do I need?

We can provide the essential gear for the trip including: tents, sleeping bags, ground pads, cooking gear, and food.

You are responsible for all personal items such as clothing, toiletries, etc. A full personal gear items list will be provided prior to the trip.

Where do we meet?

We will meet in Moab, UT at our specified basecamp for night one.

Depending on your starting point, you can drive, fly into Grand Junction, or fly into Salt Lake City.

We will connect all trip participants before the trip to coordinate group travel plans.
